EOS R Accessing Shutter Speeds Slower than 1/125

Hi everyone...I recently bought a Canon EOS R to use for astrophotography...I have an R6 I use as well... For some reason the EOS R shutter speed starts at 1/125 sec and goes to 1/8000 sec...M mode. That's it - no other options. If I want 5 sec, 1 sec, etc., I have to put it in bulb mode. I've spent hours searching fort the solution, but can't find it. Help please!!!

Yes! I figured it out just now...I went to shutter speed range, which I had no idea existed, and had to set the lowest speed at 30 sec... That fixed the issue. Thank you for your reply - itt made me go re-look at my settings...

Are you using the mechanical shutter? i.e., silent shooting is off?

Can you tell me how you got there? I've got the same problem on an R7, but I can't figure out how you got to "shutter speed range"

Go to ISO settings in the menu, if necessary check it out in the Advanced User guide  and look at P175   If you have ISO speeds set to automatic, you can configure the minimum and maximum shutter speeds for engaging auto ISO.  That document is available here: cam.start.canon/en/C005/manual/c005.pdf

Go to C.Fn menu page 2 - there you will find the option Set shutter speed range
