EOS 90D UHS-II SD card compatibility

Does the EOS 90D have the second row of pins needed for utilizing the extra speed of a UHS-II SD card? Various sources are contradictory on this answer. I'm not looking for an answer of, it will accept a UHS-II card, but whether the body has the required pins it needs to use the card as designed. Thanks

I recall buying a Sandisk UHS-II card for the EOS R. Sure enough my Amazon order history shows that I did indeed buy the Sandisk UHS-II card and the matching UHS-II card reader in August 2018.

Read what Google says again. The specs were released in 2011. Products didn’t reach consumers until a decade later.

I can confirm that yes, UHS-II cards work in the 90D and work faster than UHS-I cards.

Anecdotal Example:  With a reasonably fast UHS-I card, the buffer might fill after 16-18 continuous shots at 10fps. My UHS-II card does not stall until 21-24 frames but the buffer empties faster because the 90D writes to the UHS-II Card faster.   The faster write speed is the benefit. “

Was it a level playing field? V60 vs V60?

Without stating the specs of the cards, it sounds like you compared two cards with different specs.

Yep.

There are a lot of variables and as I said, my experience is anecdotal and anecedotally, I percieve better performance with my UHS-II card vs. any of the UHS-I cards I've used.  As the saying goes, "your mileage may vary".

I'm a bit unclear as to why you want to precipitate an argument or debate.  @SDarcherJim posed a question asking if a 90D has a second row of pins needed for utilizing the extra speed of a UHS-II SD card.  I anwered his question based on my personal hands-on experience and knowledge and provided a photo of the "scored" 2nd row of contacts on the SD UHS-II card I use to support my answer.  Furthermore, I did some online research to make sure I was imparting accurate information.  If you feel that I am incorrect or inaccurate, that is certainly your perogative.  But I stand by my response.
