Hello all. In need of some guidance. I've had the 70D camera for about 6 years. I last took it out two weeks ago, cold but not below freezing. Worked great as usual.
So the issue I'm having is that now the camera only displays on the lcd in movie mode. I can switch to different modes on the dial M, AV, TV, P, etc. Photo mode does not work at all. The only buttons that work on the rear are info, zoom magnify, and the set/dial. Top screen lights up. It does take pictures. And this is all in movie mode. If I'm in movie mode, it won't switch to photo mode and I only use it for photos.
Tried removing battery, cleaning, changing batteries, lenses {even a brand new one I haven't used}, different SD cards. Left it out overnight without the battery. Any ideas? Not spending what I what spent to buy the camera to repair it. #70D

Rhynofunk,
As I understand it, your camera has a little swi5ch up at the top to alternate between video mode and stills photo mode. If you you move that little switch from video shooting to photo shooting, and it won't take pictures, then I can't see where changing the settings will do any good at all.
It sounds like either a repair job, or a new camera.
