I was wondering if the eos 70d can take pictures in live view without the lcd screen turning off while taking the pictures? i’d like to be able to see the screen as i take the pictures to track what i’m capturing. anything helps thanks

Nope, the shutter and mirror have to close before it can open to take the picture. You might need a mirrorless camera, though I am not sure if they keep the EVF active during a shot.

johnterry_1417,
I'm not sure that would help you much anyway. I'm not sure the eye can see, or the brain can register something that is happening at 1/250th or 1/500th's of a second.
And as kvbarkley said, the mechanism has to close so that the light can hit the camera's sensor.

While the shutter might take 1/500th of a second, the mirror blackout is much longer.
Also, if he is in Live View, light is *already* hitting the camera's sensor. 8^)
