EOS 6D USB problems

USB port on my 6D quit working. Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions for a fix before I send it off for repairs?

If you are just getting images off the camera you can use a card reader. I assume you tried a new cable.

If Wi-Fi is enabled in the camera, the USB port won't work. Make sure it is disabled.

I am using a Promote Control to shoot HDR. The device was not recognizing the USB connection.
