Hi, I have a eos5d mark iv, I am using a canon zoom lens ef 28-300mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens, which is set on AF not MF. However my camera is not allowing me to choose and Auto Focus modes, it is stuck with only Manual Focus as the option. Please help, I want to use auto focus. Thank you in advance.

Does it focus with a different lens?
What is the camera shooting mode? If it doesn’t autofocus when the shooting mode is Auto, then try a different lens.
If it still doesn’t work with a different lens, then you may have a camera problem. Use an air blower to clean the mirror box.

Thanks, I’ve tried a different lens and the lens on a different camera and the lens isn’t the issue. I’ve tried resetting the factory settings too. I’ll try to blow out the mirror box.

Did you test the camera in Auto Shooting Mode? A full reset of the camera is fairly involved. The factory reset option in the menu system doesn’t reset everything.
There are many settings that have sub-menus. Two good examples are Custom Controls and Custom Shooting Modes.
Testing the camera in the Auto Shooting Mode is a quick and dirty way to take all of your custom settings off the table. Look at it as Factory Reset without having to actually reset the camera settings and losing them.

Hi thanks, I’ve tried auto shooting mode, still only show manual focus as an option, with no auto focus options available.

Wait. What does that mean? Are you saying that the entire AF menu system is gone?
What are you looking at? Are there any accessories attached to the camera or lens?

Yes, there appears to be no autofocus at all. There is nothing else on the lens, and only a battery grip.

I suggest that you contact Canon Support to see if they support repairs on the camera.
