Just got this new EOS4000 and I need help getting it off of “BASIC MODE” so I can start actually using my camera. Somebody help me out please. Any tips on what to do?

There are YouTube videos explaining the exposure triangle relationship. The 3 basic things are ISO, Aperture & Shutter speed. I would learn each of these components separately. Instead of going straight to M (Manual) mode. Then follow along with the video. While making adjustments. I would also learn where all of the necessary buttons and or dials are located on your camera.

I’ve used cameras before but this is my first canon. I just want to take it off basic mode so I can use the camera, will doing what you said change the mode?

You need to move the mode dial out of green square auto mode. By turning the mode dial to M, Av, TV & P modes. If you want to control the camera settings. The mode dial also serves as the power switch on this camera.
