Greetings,

The camera is not sold by Canon with a screen protector installed.

If you purchased used, one might be installed.  If you do buy/use one, make sure you look at the reviews.  Buy/use either a film or hard protector that doesn't leave a residue.  😉

The camera is used, i know they don't come pre installed. I was just wanting to know if my used 80d had one already on the screen. The site i bought it from didn't know if one was installed or not.

The quality of your image isn't really good enough for us to make a call whether a protector is installed.  I'm on a mobile device however.  With a bright light you should be able to determine if one is present.

The factory installed screens are actually pretty durable.  I've owned a lot of cameras since screens became a thing on them, and my cameras get a lot of use (and a slight amount of abuse when I'm on certain jobs).  I don't use screen protectors, and I've never even scratched a single screen... and I leave mine flipped open all the time (even when they go back in the camera bag).   Sure they get smudged, but they clean easily.

Looking at the top and right size outline I say it does have one installed.

Thanks Gary.  This has been my experience as well.  However, I never leave my screen LCD side out and tucked into the body.  I prefer the viewfinder and camera controls in the majority of cases.

I agree. The sharp corners of the protector are the giveaway. The camera's LCD has rounded corners.

We all have our different styles, as I'm sure you will agree, Rick.  But I do have to back up on one thing I said... I don't leave it open "all" the time.  The exception would be when I am photographing night skies - the Milky Way, or Northern Lights.  That screen will make you lose your night vision almost instantly.  🙂  I won't even look into the viewfinder any more than I have to - which is only while setting up the shot each time I move my tripod to a different area.

Upon using the light from my phone, it does have the protective screen. And another giveaway was the bubble on the bottom right hand side i found from us
