Difference between 100D and 80D?

I'm looking to get back into photography and would love to know if the 100D is still a good beginner option of if it's worth spending the extra cash on the 80D. Is there a huge difference? It's for wildlife photography with the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary - Canon EF Fit.

gonelmo1,

There is a website called Camera Decision that let's you compare two cameras side by side, and decide which features in each that you think you might like the best: things like the camera's weight and continuous shooting speed, etc. Try going here:

I know I used it in making my decision when I wanted to upgrade.

I am sure the autofocus on the 80D will be worth the upgrade.

Between these 2, the 80D is higher performing and the better buy.  If your budget allows a more modern R series body with adapter might be a better long term option.

I owned the 80D for a few years.  It really is a nice camera.  The only reason I no longer have it is because I moved up to a full frame model since I shoot mostly landscape style photography and sports fairly close up.  If I was a wildlife type of photographer, I would have kept the 80D instead.

Between Digital and Film, current number of working cameras is at 27.
Addiction is a horrible thing.
