Hi All,
Is it possible to use the Custom modes to alter settings within the ‘Record func+card/folder sel.’ Menu, or the file name or folder name options?
What I ideally want is to use C1 to record images to the Cf card and C2 to record to sd card. That would be on an R3/5. On the R1 I’d want to do the same but pick which CF slot.
Everything I’ve tried doesn’t seem to allow that. As I switch between C1 and C2, the record function remains as whatever I last set it at. This appears to be the same for filenames and the folder selection.
Has anyone else had this requirement and found a work around?
The ideal end result is that I have different sets of images recording to two different cards, depending on which mode I pick. Switching between the card function setting as I shoot isn’t an option, it’s too fiddly and would be easy to get out of sequence.
Thanks,
Sam

Older DSLRs had much smaller menus. The User Manuals listed which settings could be saved to a custom mode. I don’t recall whether memory cards settings were included.
My point is that not every setting was included for custom modes. I assume that there was a good reason not to include card settings.
Your observations are valid. You should make a suggestion to Canon to include them in a future firmware update.

I don't know about the R5, but R1 and R3 allow you to save camera settings to card.
Not a quick as switching between C modes, but it will achieve what you want.

Thanks both for your input.
