Why would I start having black rectangle strips on my photos? I’m using a Canon Rebel T7i and this just started while I was taking pictures at a basketball game. I have changed lens and it didn’t help.

Hello, and welcome to the forum!
Please post an image so we can see the problem.

Are you using a flash? If so, and your shutter speed is higher than the sync speed of your camera (typically 1/200 s or slower), then it could lead to what you're describing.
Or, it could be a failing shutter.

“Black rectangular strip” sure sounds like a failed shutter. Take your camera to a reputable repair shop for an estimate. My guess is $400-500 for a new shutter.

Mike, that was my first thought and why I asked for an example, just so we could see the shape and placement.

Here’s some examples. I have already deleted most of them but if you would like to see more I can take some. These aren’t the worst ones.

Definitely looks like a failing shutter. Contact Canon to get an estimate for a repair.
