Control ring issues after update to firmware 1.8.1 (R6MI)

I recently updated my R6MkI with the 1.8.1 firmware. I typically use the FV mode with the control ring programmed to control Exposure Compensation. Since the update this no longer works. Changing the control ring function to other settings such as ISO control and it works fine. Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks.

Start by resetting the camera's main and custom menu settings to default.  Now program the Control Ring to control Exposure Compensation and retest.  Results?

Where do I find reset options in the menu. Cannot locate them. Cannon r6 running 1.8.1

Reset Camera is located on the Setup (wrench, yellow) menu, first item on tab 5. Clear Customized Settings is located in the Custom Function (second from the right, orange) menu, last item on tab 3.
