Changing ISO in between AE Bracketing on Canon R5 ii

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding AE bracketing on the Canon R5 ii

For example, I am taking a 5-shots AE bracketing during low light. However, at my 3rd shot, I have already reached the 30s mark based on my settings of F8 and ISO 100.

To overcome this, I would like to change the ISO from 100 to 200, such that the 4th shot is still at F8 and 30s while retaining the AE Bracketing sequence. On the 5th shot, I would like to change the ISO to 400 such that I still shoot at F8 and 30s.

Can this be done on the Canon R5 ii ? Will the bracketing sequence be cancelled and goes back to the 1st shot when I change the ISO?

Thank you.

I would try enabling Safety shift with ISO in the custom functions menu.

Safety shift is designed so that when the photographer has set a fixed ISO value, but the available shutter speeds (when using Av) or apertures (when using Tv) would result in an incorrect exposure. I haven't tested it with auto bracketing but this is something you can try yourself quite easily.

Thanks Brian. I was looking more at of something manual rather than a feature in the camera which turns on when needed.

Instead of the camera changing the ISO, I would like to change the ISO manually when using the AV mode.

For example, in AV mode, I am using F8 and ISO 100, and the metered shutter speed is 10s in my bracketed 3rd shot.
On my 4th shot, it would naturally go to F8, ISO 100 and 20s (set up as 1 stop interval)

My question is, lets say at the 4th shot, I decided that I want to shoot ISO 200 instead, to still maintain a 10s shutter speed. Would that be possible?

Will changing the ISO in between shots cancel out and reset the entire bracketing sequence?

Once the bracketing sequence is in progress you cannot change the ISO setting manually. The camera locks the exposure based on the first frame. The only way to change ISO would be to cancel the bracket, and then change ISO.
