Hello, I had this camera for around five years and during a job it decides to not focus on the person infront but at a random spot. I tried turning it off and on to see if that would help but it changed to a different spot. No matter if I pressed down to focus on the person it wouldn't change then I tried using the menu to see if something I needed to change but it won't pop up when pressed on it. I thought it was the lense so I switched lense and it was till the same.

I think the OP's camera maybe dead. When the body starts to go the camera begins to lockup and the menu system becomes unavailable. This ended up happening to my friends mom's Rebel. She ended up getting pre-ordering the original 6D. She replaced that body back in August after the image sensor failed and went with the original R6. @BrianDavies do you own any EOS Bodies EOS 35mm Film Body, EOS Digital SLR/ EF or EF-S, EOS M/ EF-M Series, EOS R/ RF or a Power Shot camera.

"No mirrorless cameras from ANY manufacturer can you the IR AF Assist Beam."

The red cross pattern projected by the Godox XPro1 trigger cannot be seen by any mirrorless camera EXCEPT for SOME Sony cameras. The A9 was one of those. Godox actually made a firmware update to the trigger which brought this about. Sony flashes can also emit the red pattern and those same compatible cameras can use that beam too. Any red pattern you can see with the human eye is not IR anyway.

Those Godox speedlite AF Assist Beams are designed for mirrorless cameras. Those are actually LED lights. Canon's speedlites don't actually use IR either. You can see when they turn on.

They only work with select Sony cameras and no other camera brand. They didn't even work with Sony cameras at all until a firmware update was made.

Canon makes the 320EX speedlite that has an LED light for AF Assist. But by default it uses intermittent flashes/ pre-fires for AF Assist. When the camera menu is set to LED Only the LED light is used for AF Assist. But even when that speedlite is used the AF Assist Beam maybe projected from the camera. So you can't force an LED equipped speedlite to fire the AF Assist Beam everytime.
