Canon T8I SCN Mode

On my Canion T8i, I cannot select the SCN mode, it is greyed out.

I've tried resetting the camera to factory settings, doesn't work

Is that with the mode dial set to SCN Mode?

Is that with the mode dial set to M Mode?

With the dial set to M, the shotting Option is AV on the screen, with SCN, it's P

The rotary encoder switch under the mode dial is not working correctly. Canon will have to repair your camera. But get a QUOTE FIRST before repairs are made. To see if your camera repair is your best option or if it cost prohibitive. If repair exceeds the cost of the camera then replacement may be warranted. Rebel Series cameras can quickly exceed the cost of repair.

I'm afraid Demetrius is right. I think you have a technological problem. You aren't doing anything wrong, and no settings change you could make will fix your problem.

It's time for a repair job.
