Canon Rebel T3i keeps switching from LCD screen to viewfinder on video mode

Hello

I just got my camera yesterday. When on video mode, the camera will randomly switch from the LCD screen to the viewfinder after a short time of inactivity. It doesn't switch when filming so it's not hindering me, but it is annoying. Is there a way to change this or is this a problem with the camera?

It sounds like the auto power off function:

You'll want to be in "P" mode on the top dial to access the following:
