Come back into photography and I’m looking to upgrade my 60D to the R7. From what I’ve seen, the 18-150 looks to be a much better kit lens all around over the 18-135 which I rarely used.
I have the Nifty Fifty (probably upgrade to the RF version. 18-135 kit lens 70-200F4L IS Tamron 17-55 2.8 (on my camera 90% of the time)
Probably looking at the Tamron 100-400 at the next lens upgrade.
Is the 18-150 a good option for a walk around lens over the 17-55? I don’t need the long reach but the size and weight make it sound like it’s a good walk around lens.

IS the 18-150 a good option? No.
A zoom ratio ia zoom lens is the ratio of the longest focal length to the shortest. A lens with a zoom ratio approaching 8 or more fall into the super zoom category. The super zooms are notorious for not having the best image quality at the longest and shortest focal lengths. The best zoom lens have a zoom ratio of 3 or 4 to 1, or smaller.
