Canon EOS R10 built-in flash used as an optical sender/trigger/master for Canon EX/EL flashes?

Can the EOS R10 built-in flash trigger external Canon EX/EL flashes that can accept optical (not radio) signals. I realize that it cannot be used to trigger radio-only flash units.

It should. You need to have a direct line of sight and the built-in strobe is pretty weak. It only points in the same direction as the camera.
