Hello y’all!
I have two 30D’s with different firmware versions that I’ve picked up used. One pristine NIB 30D that is running v1.0.4. (I’m assuming that’s what they originally shipped with) and one badly battered and bruised 30D that is running v1.0.6. The battered and updated copy works fine with EOS Utility and DPP, but the older firmware copy isn’t recognized to use all the functions and doesn’t have the same exif info displayed once I can download images. I can’t download images w/ EOSU, like the newer version, I have to use another loader. Long story short, can I copy my newer firmware from one camera to the computer so I can load on CF card to update the other camera? I am not able to find a link to the v1.0.6 firmware online or on “Wayback Machine” as a. YT’er had mentioned. I also don’t want to corrupt my camera with a bad update? I could just leave everything as it is, but it would be nice to have them identical. Hopefully someone has some experience with these two firmware versions and noticed any differences.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help with these ancient DSLRs.

Are you putting the .fir file in the root directory of the card?

Have you tried the link and did everything work OK?

I tried to load the file onto CF card, but camera did not recognize the information so update could load. I probably am doing something wrong in the process.

Did you double click the downloaded file on your computer to generate the firmware file before copying to your CF card? You can't put the downloaded file directly onto the CF card.
