Can't use precapture in the R5 II

I want to use electronic shutter with pre-capture but I got a message saying I can't because I selected blackout-free display AND pre-cont. shooting.

Have you tried setting blackout free display off, shutter mode to electronic and pre-continuous shooting on? The blackout free display does block other features.

That worked. Thanks. I now see “Pre” on the screen. When DOES no blackout work?

I don't know, might be some technical reason, or something that can be adjusted in future camera firmware.
