I need some helping ideas as I can't connect my EOS 1D with Utility 3 by using a MAC running on Tahoe 26.2

Utility 3 simply does not see my camera and I have no idea how to download pics now. Any ideas aer welcome.

Regards,

Ralph

A card reader plugged into a USB port would be best.
I have not used that camera, but it might work to connect the camera to the computer using a USB cable and use the "Image Capture" app that comes with macOS.

A card read should work. The LAN and the USB connection both did not work. When using the LAN connection I can see my camera in the Network connected but EOS Utility 3 does not care. The USB seems not see the camera at all. Thanks for the reader idea. Regards, Ralph

Greetings,

I haven't used the EOS Utility for quite a while. The current version of EOS Utility no longer includes EOS Utility2 which is the version that supported your 1D.

Here is a current list of supported cameras:

Canon : Product Manual : EOS Utility : Compatible Cameras https://share.google/897DiTBla4eeetIRv

Since the camera is approximately 25 years old, it's also possible that it will not be detected by connecting it to a PC or Mac running a more modern OS.  A card reader recommended by @johnrmoyer is your best option.

Some early versions of EOSU3 (like 3.13.and earlier) will download and install EOSU3 and EOSU2. But EOSU2 won't execute on macOS26.

Best bet is either a card reader or using Apple Image Capture.

You know I haven't pulled my 1D out in a while but I don't remember a USB port on it. It has Firewire but no USB.

Get a CF card reader.
