Busy Signal in EOS Rebel XS

EOS Rebel XS.  Get a busy message in teh viewfinder everytime I try to take a picture.  Samething in MF or AF model.  Happens in every signel camera setting.  Have tried three different lenses.  Have taken out the battery and charged it and put is back in.  Have tried a different memory card.  Additionally, I am unable to view anything on the LCD screen.  This includes pictures or camera settings.  Any ideas on how to remedy this situation?
