Hello, I have a Rebel T7 that does not display anything. It is not a screen issue. The camera is recognized by EOS Utility only if there is no SD card inserted, however if you try and update the firmware or select anything else in Camera Settings within EOS Utility, it either says "Busy" or the entire program crashes. There seems to be an issue with the camera's memory, as it "takes" pictures and the lens moves when changing camera modes. I am unsure however if there is a way to force it to update or be factory reset as I am leaning more towards the issue is with a physical component related to the memory. If anyone is knowledgeable enough, would this be the main Canon cpu/memory chip, or the RAM chip at fault? Or something else? I am told the camera simply just stopped working one day.

Welcome to the Community.
Are you adjusting your camera while it’s connected to your computer?
When the camera is connected to a computer you should not touch any buttons or controls on the camera, especially removing and replacing the memory card.

Hi, no I am not. I ensured to leave the camera off and set to M when connecting to the computer. Without the SD card inserted, I open EOS Utility and turn the camera on. Attempting Remote Shooting within EOS Utility would continuously cause the program to freeze where closing it from Task Manager was necessary. I was able to access Settings from within EOS Utility, without an SD card inserted, and every selection gave me a "Busy" message. Inserting an SD card causes EOS to not recognize that a camera is connected.

Thanks for the reply. What brand and storage capacity is the memory card? Is it a full size SD card? The micro-SD cards always eventually cause problems. The same can be said about using large storage capacity cards with this family of Canon DSLRs.

We have 2 identical cameras, the other of which is perfectly functional. I put that SD card in the non-working one. I am told as this was for business use, that it just stopped working one day mid-use.
