I recognize that the BG-E21 is intended for the 6D Mark II. Will that battery grip work with the R6 Mark II? I ask because the batteries for both bodies are compatible so I'm wondering if the same will hold true for the grips.

No. You would need a BG-R10 for your EOS R6 Mark II.

I agree with Ricky. You must the BG-R10. The body of the 6D Mark II has a different size, shape, and button configuration. All of the above also applies to the battery grip.
