6D Mark II Black screen with vertical lines.

Hi all, I've recently had an issue crop up with my 6D MK II. After a day of no use, the sensor spontaneously just gives a black screen with vertical lines. It shows up on live view. It doesn't change with light level, even a light is shone directly at the sensor - it stays mostly static. The lines do move about for the first few seconds of the camera being turned on though. Cranking up the ISO will also change it slightly. It's slightly different every time too.

It wasn't knocked or dropped while it wasn't in use. It just sat on my desk for a day and now it doesn't take photos anymore.
Attached are a mindless snap I took before this problem, and a few of the shots taken a day later showing the different line patterns.

If anyone has any guesses as to what the root issue is here, it would be much appreciated. I'm thinking it's either the sensor or some component that processes the image output.

Hello Kigma welcome to the forums. Are you sure the mirror is moving out the way when you switch to live view. With the camera in live view the viewfinder should be dark. If not the image sensor IS NOT your problem. The mirror assembly is causing your problem.

Thanks for the welcome!
I can confirm that the mirror is flipping up and down as it should when taking a picture or when live view is turned on/off. It seems everything on the camera is working as it should except something in the image processing bits.

Sorry to see and hear that you’re experiencing issues with your camera.

This looks like an issue for Canon Service.  I recommend contacting them and setting up return.
