5D mark iii / Corrupted Files

Hi Everyone,

while on a job about a week ago my camera suddenly started producing images like this one:

Then it solved itself after a few minutes of turning it off.

BUT...today after I've updated the firmware it started doing the same exact thing again.

I panicked and reseted all camera settings and fortunately it all went back to normal again.

I'm on another job tomorrow and wondering if I should worry that it might misbehave again?!

Anyone got any experience with this?!

Any input would be so very appreciated! Thank you

"Can it be the sensor?"

Yes

"The camera's software causing some problems?"

If you mean is it the FW, I doubt it.

I think that has to be either a card problem or a sensor problem. Change cards and bring along your spare camera. If it happens again, send it in for inspection and repair.

Absolutely at the least get a new CF card.  I would not trust that camera on a shoot. Beg, borrow or rent another camera until you determine what is going on.

Just a chance but do the photos look OK on the camera's LCD?  If they do look at a possible corruption in your post editor.

Thank you for your help! I'm borrowing someone's else camera as safety back for tomorrow, and will take mine to check.

The images look corrupted on the LCD screen of the camera, and cannot be opened in photoshop.

Right now it is working fine, I'm really not sure what might be happening. Can it be the sensor? The camera's software causing some problems?
