The Mark III is a fantastic camera and a noticeable upgrade.

"DxO is not reliable, I'm frustrated with how bad their information is, and wish they'd just get out of putting out bad data entirely."
Pay attention to this very wise man!

"I have a 5D Mll and am thinking about a 6D ..."
I wouldn't do it. It isn't that better of a camera in the good spots and in some areas it is worse.

Lots of good thoughts in the thread. For my part, I'm not tempted to move from a 5DII to a 6D at all. Similarly, I'm not yet tempted by the 5DIII.
For landscape, event and portrait stills I don't see much to justify the move. And as far as AF goes, I've got a 7D for all that with extra reach to boot.
If I were forced at gunpoint to choose one body it would be a 1DIV followed by a 5DIII.

If I had to rate them in order of "greatness", it would be..........:
1D Mk IV
5D Mk III
1D Mk III
5D Mk II
7D
All the rest.
IMHO, as always!
I use all these so I have a fairly good working knowledge of each. And, of course, this assumes, you like me can not seem to part with 7 grand for a 1Dx. A few years ago, yes, I would have been all over one.
