I just pulled my old 5d Mk IV out, as I need a backup, but when I turn on the camera - fresh battery, reformatted card - the image I'm shooting does not appear on the back screen. I can take an exposure and press the play button and it will display, but when i press the shutter to resume shooting, the screen goes black. I reset to factory settings. This is probably a dumb question but I've gotten so used to the R5, I can't remember if I'm supposed to change a setting. I've searched and can't find an answer. I have Live View enabled.
Thank you for any help with this.

Did you press the start stop button to put the camera in live view. If not live view is not going to work.

Yes, I did that, thank you. I just tried a different battery and now it's working. I then put the first battery back in and it still works. I guess the camera just wanted to waste an hour of my time today lol. Thanks for your reply!
