50-200 F3.5-4.5 (58)  will this lens made in 1987 work on a Eos XS camera?

It is an EF mount so it will work on any modern Canon DSLR camera but not the mirrorless camera. From a quick read it doesn't sound very appealing. A push pull zoom, a dust magnet, and a soft lens unless perhaps stopped down to f/8.

Why do so many people say "FER-tographer"? Do they take "fertographs"?
