Howdy yall!
I’m new to the world of photography. The Canon EOS Rebel T7 is the first device outside of my smart phone.
As I understand the model is supposed to have a maximum running time of 30 minuet's. However, my recordings last only 2 seconds. I did research and verified that my full size SDHC memory cards (16 and 32 GB) were compatible and formatted.
I could very well be missing something so please offer your experience and be gentle to a newcomer such as myself. Thank you 🙏

JaneDoe_2017,
Set your camera to take videos. Now, hit your Menu button to go into your Menu settings.
Look to see if your camera is set to take Video Snapshots. If it is, then Disable that.

Thank you! I don’t have access to the camera at the moment but will return with an update in a few hours! I hope it works

In combination with some help from Reddit, I was able to locate and disable the Snapshot feature on movie mode!
I’m not sure the purpose behind a snapshot but I assume I’ll learn later in my journey. (Maybe for candid moments) Thanks for the guidance! I’m sure everyone will hear from me again

JaneDoe_2017,
The snapshots can come in handy, if you are doing something like a travelog.
"Here is my trip to Washington, D.C. Here's the Smithsonian, and here's the Library of Congress, and here's the White House", etc.
Down the road, as you get into video editing, you can intersperse still photographs among your short video clips.

Have you downloaded the manual on your phone or computer? I have a T7 and find the manual to be most helpful.

I haven’t downloaded the manual but thought I had read it correctly. Time for another revisit!
