1DX iii video af keeps defaulting to single point af

Hi all,

I got a used 1dx3 a few months ago and I’m loving it for stills!

I don’t shoot video much but one quirk I’ve noticed is that every time i switch to video mode the AF mode always defaults back to single point AF, no matter how many times I change it to tracking af.

Anyone else have this issue?

I’m on firmware 1.5 and am wondering if updating the firmware to the latest will fix this issue.

thanks

If you to the support page and select the latest firmware update (1.9.0) it documents all the changes in that and previous FW updates. Nothing about your issue.

What video mode/setting are you in?

Hi John,

I’m shooting in full manual mode. I flip the switch from stills to the video when I want to record something. Shooting in 4K 24p.
