In case anyone is interested I found a paint that is an extremely close match to the original "white" L lenses.
Krylon Satin Touch 3520 Pebble SKU 7 24504 03520 6. I have actually had my can for a few years but yesterday I was touching up an EF 2X II Extender that was originally owned by a working professional and was scratched up. I do not know if this color is still available. This color is NOT the same as the newer "white-grey" found on the 70-200mm f/4L IS Version II, etc.
Because it comes in a spray can I shoot some into a small plastic cup and let it sit for 15 minutes or so for some of the solvent to evaporate so it's thicker.
