EOS R5 AF Point Blue Green Issues

Hello

I have an issue that nobody seems to be able to answer, so I am hoping that an R5 expert may be able to help.

To keep it simple: I have been using the R5 for a few years now, predominantly for product photography and about a month ago my AF point went blue (as if in Servo) and struggled to make focus. I am used to the white/green of one shot, so noticed it straight away.

I have no idea why this has happened, but I can confirm that I am shooting in AV, One Shot and I have checked this over and over in the menu. It happens with all lenses and they are all set on AF, not manual.

Any ideas welcome?

Thank you

Yep One-Shot AF is green and Servo AF blue so it is a bit strange. Have you updated the body firmware recently?

Have you attempted to reset the body back to it's factory defaults to see if the issue goes away?

You may have a conflict with one of the menu settings. Did you make any changes before the problem started?

Thank you for the help. I have tried a reset within the menu, but not sure if that is resetting to factory defaults? I don't remember making any changes to menu settings, but it could be possible. I did send the body into Canon UK and they found no faults, but when I followed up with them, they confirmed that they hadn't specifically checked the AF point and have asked me to send it back. I just can't help thinking its something very simple that I have missed.

I would have to agree and believe it is something changed in the menu where a conflict was created between One-Shot AF and Servo AF. Have you going through the AF menus to see if you can find a setup conflict.

There are many intelligent folks here that will hopefully jump in to help narrow down what the conflict may be.....
