Well you're not going to get any more compact then the STM Primes. The 22 and the 40 both look tiny. If you need more reach then you'll need to get bigger, at least for the moment. The 50/1.8 and 60/2.8 are still pretty small. Zooms are always going to be bigger. And naturally, so are longer focal lengths.

Of course, you can't use the EF-M 22mm with the SL1. What is needed is an EF-S 22mm pancake. That with the EF 40mm STM would be really nice.
