I am a proud owner of Canon 700D (T5i) . I need a zoom for wildlife( Birding included) . I was about to purchase the Canon 100-400 MK ii when some friends opinied that I should go for the 3rd party 150-600 zooms because of the range. Also, I am planning the 10-20 STM for wideangle photoes .   Any opinions ladies & gentlemen ? I currently have the 18-55 is ii & 55-250 is ii lenses.  Thanks in advance.

Interesting.  BTW, I am aware of the frame rates for the 7D2 and 1D4.  I am also aware that the 1D4 is supposed to focus almost as fast as a 7D2.  I'm just reporting my observations.

With the 7D2, a sequence of shots with the 150-600 was always slightly out of focus.  With the 1D4, some shots in a sequence were in better focus, while some were worse.  Not a very scientific test, but a pattern has emerged over the course of the summer.  The 100-400mm consistently focused razor sharp during continuous shooting, while the 150-600mm was consistently almost in focus.
