trouble setting up Pixma MG 7120

I was on the phone with a Canon tech for a couple of hours and still don't have this Pixma MG 7120  scanner working. I notice others have had the same problem.  If you have the problem solved, please tell me what you did.  Which driver did you install?  I am on a  mac with mavericks.    I need a manual on how to use this printer.  Where can I find one?

did you try turning off your firewall?

ihad similar issues as you mentioned on mt 7120.

I temporarily disabled my firewall. the set up went through smoothly after that.

Thank you your  advice.  The firewall is and has been turned off for a while.   I will have to go through Canon tech again.

I think the problem could be in the printer with the Lan, etc.  I think it is messed up.

 

I can print and copy.  Just not scan.  And the Image garden doesn't work.  I read that it is connected with scan so when and if I get that fixed, Image Garden should work okay.  I wish it wouldn't be so hard to get these things working properly.

 

Again, thanks much.  If you know of anything more that I can or should do, I'll appreciate your help.
