pixma 2400 series error message

BuffyDavis
Apprentice

I am unable to print anything from my computer because I continue to get an error message that says 'not connected to printer'.  Have turned off and on repeatedly. Have tried connecting cable to different port, Have done hard sets with stop and start button, nothing is working.

Welcome to the forum Buffy.

Did the printer ever work or is this something that developed after the printer had been working?

I've had the printer for quite a few years and it's never given me this error message. I've had much success up til now of printing anything from my laptop.

Have you made any changes to the computer like an operating ssystem update?

Maybe you need to reinstall the printer driver and reconnect the printer.

I used the printer with success less than 2 weeks ago. Since that time, there have been no updates to my OS, no changes at all. I have re-downloaded the drivers and even added the printer to the computer as a new printer. It appeared as if it would work, but then shortly the message came again, not connected to the printer.

I've tried using this with 2 separate laptops that I've used in the recent past. Both of them are getting the same error.
