Did you mean:

mx922 does not use pgbk cartridge when printing photos.

The nozzle check is just fine, and text is just fine, but photos printed on the mx922 have no blacks. all the other colors are fine. The same photos printed to other printers are fine.

It makes no difference what paper is selected.

Hi js1138,

In order to clarify the issue, allow me to ask a couple questions:

  • What program are you printing from?
  • Are you able to print a document?
  • Do you get the same effect when you photocopy an image?

I look forward to your reply.

Thanks for the response. Photocopies are very good and have normal blacks. (photocopies of images)

Documents are also good.

I'm printing from Photoshop CC, but I also tested from Paint.

Windows 10/64

Type of paper doesn't seem to matter.

I have two other printers, a Brother MFC-J825DW, and a Canon MG5320, which do not have this problem. I had this problem once before with the 5320, but it went away. I have changed the ink cartridge.
