Having installed the CUPS driver as a possible solution to a ColorSync problem, ( /personalprinters/message-id/15624) it made me wonder about there being apparently three possible Mac drivers for the ip8700 series: IJ , BJ, and CUPS.
Canon Support page lists differences - "existing driver" is for earlier Mac versions (though it seemed to work for me on Sierra before changing to CUPS); no AirMac on CUPS etc... all very confusing to me as to which to use..
.
Could somebody recommend if possible what's best for me, using (generally) Color Managed printing?
And how to uninstall any superfluous drivers that might lead to possible conflict?
My thanks

The IJ Series drivers are Canon furnished that give full printer capability. Bonjour is an Apple developed driver.
I only use the IJ Series drivers.
You can uninstall printers you don’t want in Printers & Scanners.
