can't install firmware update

I am trying to install the firmware update, and followed the instructions I found on a Canon post.  Everything seemed to be working fine and it was downloading, then all of a sudden the computer shut down, only to restart and give a message that the update could not be completed and to refer to the manual.  ?????

I'm using Canon MG6620 and WindowsVista.

You can initiate the firmware update directly from the printer's operation panel. Link below has great instructions.
