I have downloaded the IJ Scan Utility 2, but scanner still won't work
Using Mac OS 14.1 Sonoma/Connected via Wifi

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which operating system is running on your computer (i.e. Windows or macOS, and which version thereof) and whether your PIXMA MX490 talks to your computer via a USB cable or via Wi-Fi. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

I'm running on a Mac OS Sonoma 14.1; my printer works via wifi so assume my scanner would as well.

Hi HeidiWolff,
Please download and install the scanner driver for your PIXMA MX490.
To download the driver, please click this link:
https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAxMTQwMTAx&cmp=ABR&lang=EN
Once the file finishes downloading, please open or run it (misd-mac-ijscanner15s-5_0_0-ea21_3.dmg) to install the scanner driver on your Mac.
After the installation is complete, please open the IJ Scan Utility and attempt to scan.
