I just purchased a new Canon 9500 series printer. I have it set up and so far it seems to print, scan, copy. However, I cannot find where it puts the scans in my computer.
My MG7720 used to put them in my Picasa program or on my desktop. I cannot find the scan. Any clues?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for joining the conversation, Adrienne!
So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using. We introduced a model called the PIXMA Pro9500 back in 2007 but this model didn't have a built-in scanner. Is it possible that it's part of the multifunction TS9500 series? If so, you'll find its exact model number on the front of the printer at the lower right.
That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!
If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.
Thanks and have a great day!

If your scanner saves the same as mine did before I changed it, then this could be where your scanned docs end up
C:drive/users/"user name"/documents/scanned documents.
If using Windows 11 then this may help:
By default, the Canon PIXMA 9500 series scanner saves scanned documents to a specific folder on your computer. This is typically set to the "Documents" folder, which may be synchronized with OneDrive if you have that feature enabled.
To change the default save location for scanned files, follow these steps:
Open IJ Scan Utility: This is the software that comes with your Canon scanner.
Access Settings: In the IJ Scan Utility, look for the "Settings" option.
Specify Save Location:
Save Changes: Make sure to save your changes before exiting the settings.
If your scans are still saving to OneDrive, check your OneDrive settings to see if the "Documents" folder is synchronized. You may need to disable this synchronization to save files locally.
You can create a dedicated folder for scans on your local drive to keep them organized.

Hi Danny...yes, my Model # is TS9521Ca. Since I asked my question, I have been able to deduce that, 1. the scanner does scan...2. I can scan to an email, 3. It will show it on the screen but that is as far as I can get it. I actually printed what I saw but I could not do anything with it. I can't move it to any program or photo program to edit the picture.
A lot of time, I get a message that the scanner is offline. I have given it a day and will go back and try again today. One thing I keep seeing is IJ Scan Utility. I don't know if I have seen that or where to find it.
Thank you so much for reaching out to me and trying to help me. I will go now and see what I can find today.

Hi Derrick, thanks so much for all the information.
I have been able to find a couple of items I scanned. I'm not sure I have the IJ Scan Utility. If I do, I don't know where to look for it.
I am able to scan and I believe I can scan to email. But when I scan to my computer, then I am lost.
I have used Picasa as a photo program for years, even though it isn't supported and with that, when I would scan something with my MG7720, it would automatically open up in Picasa.
With this one, I tried scanning a picture but I can't get it to do anything after that. I can print what I see but I can't edit the photo or get it to any program for editing. There are tabs at the top of the page but none that would allow me to move it.
When I scan, I get three options, 1, to computer, 2, to email and 3, to the cloud. I have never used cloud so don't know what that does so I have been trying computer.
I have Googled everyway I know how and just am not getting anywhere.
So I guess my next question is, how do I know or where do I find IJ Scan Utility?
Thank you so much for trying to help me.

If you are using Windows the IJ scan utility is normally in the Canon Utilities Folder when you open Windows Start menu.
