Unable to edit scanned images

T_H_M
Contributor

I get this error message when I try to open the jpg in HyperSnap, the editing software I use.

Corrupt JPEG data: 117 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9

I have never been unable to open a jpg image, ever. Just replaced my HP with Canon G3060 and have saved my scan as a jpg file.

What gives? Is there a setting I need to change.

I have a pc running win7.

Thanks.

T_H_M,

Please describe a little more of your workflow.

Are you using the IJ Scan Utility to save your image as JPG and then opening that image using HyperSnap?

If so, what DPI are you scanning with?
