Thank you for your response and although I understand what you say, surely there will be similar or alternative models to the 5051 also, the driver says ts5000 series, therefore a windows fix (if anyone knows) would cover the whole series.
After all, this doesn't seem to be a model specific problem, rather just my windows blocking the printer. Need to find out why.....
I do ope someone has better ideas than Canon UK, since they were unable to help me.
