The all in one Pixma MP830 printer suddenly turned off, even though all the connections were proper.

The Pixma MP 830 turned off suddenly and will not turn back on despite all the connections being properly made, the connections being checked and rechecked, the power sources being checked, changed and rechecked. Same with the USB cord. OS is Mac OS 10.5 . One moment the printer was working, the next moment it wasn't. Will not turn on so there are no error messages.

Hi jdesteian,

There is one more thing we can try.  Disconnect the power from your printer and remove the power cord.  Press the power button several times and then wait for 30-60 minutes.  Plug in the power cord and attempt to power on the printer.  If the device will not power on, then it will need to be serviced.  Please feel free to Contact Us for more information about your service options.

I have the MX860.  I have the same problem except, when the unit is plugged in, the YELLOW ALARM LIGHT stays ON.. I have tried the unplugging routine Over and Over to no avail.  KINDA Ticks me off that I just bought a couple of sets of Ink for this machine(Which has been great til now... Wouldn't you know it does it on the week end when NO TECHS are in til Monday!  have the dread of KNOWING that I will have to buy a NEW Copier because my 2 yr Extended Warranty 10 months ago... And it will cost more to try to get it fixed!  BTW: I have Dell Laptop, Win7 (64 Bit) Wireless connection

Hello.

To try and resolve this issue, please unplug the power from the unit for about 25-30 minutes.  Once this time frame has passed, plug the unit in directly to a wall outlet to see if the printer will power on properly.
