This printer quit scanning about a year ago, forcing me to use my photo scanner for all scanning, but I'd like to find a fix now that it's tax time.
The TS6300 is wirelessly connected to a late 2012 Mac mini running Mojave 10.14.6 with 16GB of memory. I've just switched from a Linksys router to the newest T-Mobile 5G dual band Gateway, about 15 feet from the computer and printer. I'm getting 80 down/45 up with Speedtest on the 2.4gHz band. My SSID and password have not changed and I have reconnected the printer to the Gateway. It's prints just fine.
When I open IJ Scan Utility Lite and click on Auto or Document, I get the message 'An Error Occurred While Communicating With The Scanner'. Again, this has been going on for about a year.
Thank you for your time. Your help is great appreciated.

Patrick, you are my hero! This worked. Plus, I didn't have to enter my password again on the printer. What a huge relief. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Best regards,
David

Hello,
I found this correspondence and solution, as I have a similar problem, but the solution does not work for me.
The printer, TS6351, and my MacBook Pro running macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 are both connected to the same Wifi router. Printing works just fine, but the scanner utility, when selecting any type of scan, returns an error saying:
Cannot communicate with scanner. Possible reasons:
- Scanner is turned off.
- (If using wired LAN connection) It is disconnected from wired LAN.
- (If using Wi-Fi connection) Signal strength is poor due to obstructions.
- (If using USB connection) USB cable is disconnected.
Please check and try again.
The last time I scanned, about 6 months ago, it worked just fine. I have tried reinstalling the printer/scanner software, but aside from changing the scan dialog box to another format, this has not had any effect.
Thank you so much for your time!
