TS 7760 CARTRIDGE ISSUE

Brand new out of box today, turned on fine, asks me to put both cartridges in as per screen, i have done this, and done this and done this.. but screen wont move past the *put cartridges in correct slot* video. 

cartridges look fine, no damage, tape is off on both.
