TR8620a won't print correctly despite having done all the maintenance

My TR8620a printer (purchased May 2022) won't print correctly despite having done all of the maintenance steps outlined in the manual.  At first it was printing with skips, then pages were completely blank. I did a nozzle check,  cleaned the print head, deep cleaned the print head, (fixed the blank page issue), aligned the print head, cleaned the paper feed rollers, and cleaned the bottom plate.  All of this resulted in an improvement in print quality but there are still a few faded spots and skips.  Is the printer done for or is there anything else that can be done?  Thanks!

Hi Concertchick,

Because performing multiple printhead cleanings did not resolve the printing issue you are experiencing, your PIXMA TR8620a would require service.

Replacing the printhead may resolve this issue, but please note, there is no guarantee that replacing it will resolve the issue and there are no returns on parts purchased for your TR8620a.  You may contact Canon's Parts Department by dialing 1-866-481-2569.  The hours of operation the Parts Department are 9:00 AM to 7 PM ET, Monday through Friday.  They can provide you with availability and cost.

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service.  This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

Thanks for your reply.  I spoke with Canon support on the phone and the problem seems to be damaged hardware in the printer.  Since the printer is out of warranty, I will file a claim with the extended warranty I purchased through Amazon.
