Please clean the inside of the automatic document feeder:

Also, please make sure that the pages that you are attempting to scan are of the same size. Please follow these guidelines as well:
- Make sure any liquids on documents, such as glue, ink, or correction fluid are dry before loading.
- Do not load glued documents in the ADF, even if the glue is dry, because this may cause paper feed issues.
- Remove all staples, paper clips, or other fasteners before feeding documents.
- Do not load the kinds of documents listed below in the ADF, which may cause paper feed issues:
Wrinkled or creased documents
Curled documents
Torn documents
Documents with holes
Glued documents
Documents with sticky notes
Documents on carbon paper
Documents on coated paper
Documents on onion skin or other thin paper
Photos or excessively thick documents
If the issue persists, your PIXMA TR8520 may require service. If your PIXMA TR8520 was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat to obtain your in warranty options. If your PIXMA TR8520 is out of warranty, you are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.
