PIXMA TR8520 Paper Jam error 1300

Janlyo
Apprentice

I have a TR8520 printer.  All of the sudden, it gives me a 1300 - Paper Jam error.  I clear the paper, and look all around back and front to ensure that there's no trailing papers.  But it keeps giving me the error. Now, I can't even get past this.  I turn it off, back on and it gives me the error again.  Each time I have to clear the paper from back.  On my laptop, I can't even cancel the printing as there's nothing showing on the queue, so the printing is stuck in the printer's memory.  First, how can I clear the printer's memory so it will stop trying to print? And secondly, what can be causing the paper to continue to jam.  The printer take the paper and pass it through the back, but it gets stuck on the top.  I have looked all around and inside where the cartridges are, but  I don't see any paper or any obstruction that could cause this.
